Mahatma Gandhi- Social and Cultural Philosopher
In the words of Mahatma Gandhi (who’s life is celebrated today) “YOU MUST BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD” … he transformed lives with this thinking.
This is a tribute to great social and cultural leaders including YOU – who continue to THINK DIFFERENT too. Dont be afraid to be a Rebel or a Mis-fit, because that’s HOW You Can make change. People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. Salute ……
“Power based on Love is 1000 Times More Effective & Permanent than the one derived from fear of punishment”
Leaders need to think differently and Mahatma Gandhi definitely did that. This a tribute to all who think differently, and in particular Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a pre-eminent political and spiritual leader of India during the Indian Independence Movement. Born 2 October 1869 – Died 30 January 1948 and renamed Mahatma Gandhi due to his great sage soul.
“Mahatma” is a Hindu term of respect for a Brahmin (member of a social and cultural elite) Sage – A Leader of Leaders if you like. Gandhi was called a Mahatma as a reflection of his great soul and the respect held by millions around the world, including many other great leaders. Gandhi was killed by another Hindu Brahmin, Nathuram Godse. He shot Gandhi 3 times at close range because he believed Gandhi was betraying India by doing negotiations with Pakistan to try and stop the war.
Here is a snap-shot presentation of Gandhi’s core philosophy – The Philosophy of Non-Violence:
“An Eye for An Eye Leaves the Whole World Blind”
Gandhi was a practitioner of non-violence and truth, and advocated that others do the same. He lived modestly in a self-sufficient residential community and wore the traditional Indian dhoti and shawl, woven with yarn he had hand spun on a charkha. He ate simple vegetarian food, and also undertook long fasts as means of both self-purification and social protest.
The United Nations declared October 2nd (Gandhi Jayanti) as International Day of Non-Violence. That is the impact one person can have when you think differently and devote your life to transforming the lives of others.
Even Google Celebrate the Legacy of Gandhi.

Here’s What Martin Luther King, another great Leader of the modern era said (briefly) about the impact Gandhi had on his life:
Aggression draws violence, even in our words. Think Differently next time you are provoked, especially online in a social network or alike or by email. Here’s to a Peaceful World, you can start by bringing more peace to your ‘world’ and to the people around you.
And again in the words of Mahatma Gandhi “Outward Peace is Useless Without Inner Peace“.

Martin Luther King followed Gandhi’s footsteps and was inspired by his non-violence movement for political rights.
Barak Obama says if given the opportunity to talk to anyone past or present, he would choose Mahatma Gandhi.
I can understand why Obama feels that. Gandhi developed such a potent form of personal and social culture. I feel he will impact and influence more people now and in the future than he did when he was alive … I believe his legend will live on … strongly. Thanks for visiting and sharing. xo
Hey Jen,
The first video left me with a feeling of total AWE! Made me want to rush to the nearest big hill and shout out that we can ALL ‘be the change we want to see in the world’. If someone thinks they can’t make a difference then they are WRONG because all the little bits add up to something that is very real and very special.
I feel really inspired right now! Thanks heaps!
With love and blessings

Hey Inara, I felt exactly the same way as I was researching and compiling this. I have brought several book about him and one I really recommend is “Gandhi’s Philosophy and Quest for Harmony”. It makes you want to climb the highest of mountains and yell the loudest!
Love you, thank you again for stopping by and sharing your love.

As we envision how we would like the world to be, we need to ask ourselves on achieving our vision how would we BE acting towards every being that comes across our path?
Describe it in detail How I will feel, be acting, responding etc and start living from that space today.
BE the change one person at a time and assist the transformation of consciousness for all.
Thank you Jennie I feel we are on the same page.
Love to all
Jenny

what a lengthy and in depth article, full of useful information
I get so overwhelmed by the seemingly insurmountable problems that exist in our world that wish I could just get on with my life and let it look after itself! What can I do? How can I help? Yet when I do this my life seems empty, it’s only when you look at these problems no matter how they hurt… this fuels that fire that burns inside and you feel driven to do something about it! Watching these video’s on your website is like all my favorites in one spot, I can’t tell you how much I loved revisiting all these amazing people and seeing new one’s… My dream too is to make a difference, and this helps and reminds me to never give up!!! God Bless and Thank you… Marie
Hi Marie
I very much get that same sense of overwhelm about life. I have come to realize the most powerful way forward is to ‘own it’ yourself and let others magnetize to it and give them a voice from their ownership too.
It means so much to me that you continue to take the time to explore what I have created on this site, it truly is my personal legacy and gift that I hope will continue to impact on people beyond my lifetime too.
Now you know how much these ‘stories’ I have compiled mean to me, they are my legacy, you surely will know how much YOU taking the time to indulge in them means to me.
I thank you and love you.
