Chicago – A Girl in the “Windy City” with World Best Internet Marketing Entrepreneurs
What an exciting week I have had sharing, learning, listening and enjoying time and experiences with world-leading internet marketers and web business owners in Armand Morin’s Platinum Group Mastermind Roundtable.
I could easily make Chicago another home – “Sweet Home Chicago” … never been? Have a quick look at this vid:
This was my first trip to Chicago and my first time attending the Mastermind Roundtable, having finally qualified and passed the assessment program put in place by Armand Morin – a qualitative process to ensure he only has ‘the best of the best’. I have to say, while I was going through the process, I was quite annoyed as the Assessor/s would not approve me on points from the 106 point checklist to get accepted. It’s frustrating and time consuming complying with criteria set down by someone else about how to do your business online, but having finally completed it, I was very happy that the process exists and that I was not going to waste a week and a half away from home and family to be anything but a group of the ‘best of the best’ — and they knew I was one too because I also completed the Armand Morin Platinum level 106 point checklist.
So, the week was productive for business and fun for me.
Here’s a summary of key points for business and key experiences for a girl travelling the world:
For Web Business Success … and Longevity:
- NEVER DISCOUNT your products and services – if you want to stay in business that is.
- BE BRAVE and fire clients that cause bad experiences for you, your staff and your business.
- INNOVATE in these tough times – the momentum will be with you when the ‘clouds clear and the sun is out again.
- BE ACCOUNTABLE for taking action on plans set for the next 90-120 days.
It all sounds great right? Problem is, we very rarely follow these basics … and get them right. I got some great ideas too on my latest project – a platform for web business owners to: (a) never need to hire a web master again and (b) take control of their online marketing and sales strategies. I’m calling it the “Web Success Wizard”. The mastermind group gave me so many ways I can bring my platform to market. Until now it has been exclusively for Web Business Academy clients only – who have purchased a turn-key web business package, now it will be available to every business owner wanting to reduce costs and improve results for their web site and business. It’s good to share my idea with people that can be trusted with my commercial-in-confidence information.
On a personal level, I loved staying at the Marriott Chicago, very comfortable and great staff (no bathrobe though, so did not live up to the “Business in My Bathrobe” mantra).

Hotel Lifestyle is important travelling the globe
I did experience my first ever American Baseball game – Chicago White Sox home game. Although they lost the game at their home ground (never good), it was fun to learn how the game was played and also to experience the ceremony built around it. Quite different to how aussie crowds behave at sporting matches. Grabbed a couple of souvenirs including an awesome zip up jacket for Paul with the White Sox emblem on the left chest. (He doesn’t admit it but he loves it when I bring him home presents – well who doesn’t love surprise gifts anyway.)

At the White Sox Game with Armand Morin, his wife Marianna and a group of internet marketers from USA and Canada.
Here was the most amazing part of being at the White Sox game. I’m sitting there with 30 Americans just in our group and next thing the music starts playing and I transcend into a “Twilight Zone” … over the loud speakers comes some AC-DC … “Thunderstruck” … it was surreal … and the entire crowd knew the tune. I thought that was really cool – GO ACA DACA
Got time to squeeze in a spot of shopping at one of the world’s biggest malls – Woodfields (picked up some great winter clearance lines that are perfect for the weather conditions back home).
I got to preview next summer’s fashion – I particularly loved the Calvin Klein collection and the Michael Kors collection. And for you bohemian hippy types, the tie-die is back! Also lots of bright colors and generous, easy-wash n wear fabrics (excellent for a girl on the move around the globe like me – pack, stack and then neatly on my back – that’s what a travelling wardrobe should be). The maxi-dress is ‘jeweled up’ (full-figured girls like me LOVE LOVE LOVE the maxi-dress. And chunky shoes and sandals are ‘the go’ – not so great for light travel but an essential part of a fashion-forward Godmother’s kit.

Check out the Calvin Klein range now at Macys - they had the best online collection for you to preview.
Check out the Michael Kors range now at Macys - again the best way to quickly view the variety of styles in this summer’s wardrobe.
Also got to do some great sight-seeing, only wished I had a little more time.
An afternoon at Navy Pier, (took a boat ride tour of the city of Chicago) followed by a cocktail at sunseton the 95th floor of the Hancock Building.

PLUS I saw one of my favorite live shows “The Blue Man Group” – intelligent and funny entertainment. I’ve seen this show in Vegas and London, now can add Chicago too. If you’re ever looking for some great, creative live entertainment, I highly recommend this show, a drummer’s delight and a plumbers dream all wrapped in to a show where no cast member EVER speaks a single word. As one fellow fan says “…. and if you smoke weed before you go, it’s even more of a buzz”. Well I went stone-cold sober and loved it. Check out this vid I found online.
Found time to also get my hair done – a highly recommended indulgence when you travel for business and fun, sampled local ice cream (a compulsory indulgence) and enjoyed the spectacular history and architecture that makes up down-town Chicago.
Add Chicago to your list of places to visit, I recommend it – in fact I want my USA home there. It’s really close to the border of Canada, it has an awesome water sports playground, very intriguing past, entertainment en masse, jazz and well … liquor … I mean what more can a girl want from a town in her travels.

Chicago sounds amazing, I love the sound of next years fashion, sounds like the 70′s is back.
The shoes look just like a pair I had!
